Q Industries MV50 SuperFlow High-Volume 12-Volt Air Compressor :

A small fire broke out in the meter room of building 2. Plantation fire department was called out to the scene and luckily no one was hurt. Sources say the cause of this fire was from someone’s meter not working properly causing it to spark up when someone(s) went in to fix it that wasn’t FPL.

Eye witness confirm that our maintainance supervisor along with an electrician(s) were seen entering and exiting the meter room before and after the fire started and when the power went completely out.  Eye witness also confirm these same indivisuals were seen answering questions to the Plantation fire department.

Here my question?

Why was FPL not called out in the first place?  When it comes to our meters and/or electrical issues such a loss of power in one or 2 units, FPL should be the first person to call not our association staff or anyone else for that matter, but that doesn’t seem to be the case today.

FPL arrived on the seen around 3:35-3:45pm were they completely shut down everything. They were able to get half of  building 2′s power back, however the other half of the unit owners in building 2 are experiencing a black out. FPL has not given us an update as to when our power will return but it looks like it can be a day or two hopefully not.  Building 2 unit owners do not deserve to be left in the dark especially because certain individual could not following prodigal.

It’s crazy to know something that may have been such a small issue if they just had taken the proper steps has cost half of building 2 unit owners to go through such an uncomfortable and miserable situation.

Question?

Who do you think is to blame for this? Should the association be responsible?
